Dolphin cake

My daughter wanted to have a dolphin cake for her birthday. I made it by baking two cakes in 9" round pans. After making a template, I cut out the shapes, split each in half and filled the center with strawberries and whipped cream. Here is the finished result after frosting the cake with stabilized whipped cream. YUM!

  1. What do you mean stabilized whipped cream? I have to make a dolphin cake for the child I take care of (nanny), but we live in Italy and I've never done something like this without fondant! Thanks!

  2. This is awesome! Do you have a picture of your template before you cut it out or could you give us directions on how to cut the circles?
